It Happened On #5

Turns out today is a quite boring day in history. Nevertheless, here’s another It Happened On

It happened on October 2 1963…hurricane Flora hits Haiti, killing thousands of people. Flora also killed large numbers of people in Cuba and wreaked havoc elsewhere in the Caribbean. It was one of the most deadly hurricanes in history

Also on October 2 1863, Charles Darwin returned to England, ending a five-year surveying expedition of the southern Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Darwin acquired an intimate knowledge of the flora, fauna, and geology of many lands which proved invaluable in the development of his theory of evolution

I have nothing else to add
