RIP Twinkie

Hostess went out of business yesterday. The company said it was going defunct because they lack the finances to weather an extended nationwide strike by workers. The strikes began a week ago after Hostess imposed a contract cutting workers’ wages by 8%. Hostess will sell off its assets to the highest bidder

So why am I posting about this?

Well if you don’t know, Hostess is behind the Twinkie among other baked goods. Society seems to have lost its mind and started to frantically buy Twinkies. A connivance store sold out of Twinkies by 9am the next day. On eBay, someone put a $250,000 price tag on a box of 10 Twinkies. Other less moronic sellers were asking $8 to $60

Let’s relax people! Twinkies aren’t THAT good! They’ve been around since the 30’s and have had their run. Donuts taste better anyway

  1. ROFL! You’ve got to be kidding! People were selling them on Ebay?! Haha I haven’t had a Twinkie in probably 15 years; they are horrible for you, and are known for not breaking down in the landfills for YEARS!! Still…I do remember them tasting pretty good…Darn you, now I want a Twinkie! 😛

      • If they’re nasty, why do you have one? Hmmm?? LOL I went grocery shopping yesterday and low and behold all Hostess items were gone; that was weird. This woman walked by me and my son (as we were staring at the empty shelves), and my son says, “Why are they all gone?” and she responds with “Because America Sucks!” I was like, “whaaat?!” She was referring to the fact that her favorite treats are no longer available. It was bizarre. *rolls eyes*
