Workout Music

I usually listen to the radio when I workout but since I got the new Tegan and Sara album, I decided I’d listen to it and others on my PlayBook

What did I listen to, you ask? Since you asked, I listed all the songs I listened to – the first 13 are by Tegan and Sara. I replayed most at least twice, some three tines…hence the “x 2” and “x 3”

  1. Closer x 2
  2. Goodbye, Goodbye x 2
  3. I Was A Fool x 2
  4. I’m Not Your Hero x 2
  5. Drove Me Wild x 2
  6. How Come You Don’t Want Me x 2
  7. I Couldn’t Be Your Friend x 2
  8. Love They Say x 2
  9. Now I’m All Messed Up x 2
  10. Shock To Your System x 2
  11. Feel It In My Bones – featuring Tiesto x 3
  12. Video – featuring Morgan Page x 2
  13. Body Work – featuring Morgan Page x 3
  14. We Are Going – Burning Spear

  16. We Are Rebels – Alice In Wonderland

Workout Log For January

With the end of January comes the summary of my workout (only Eliza and the treadmill since I can’t count the calories I burn while weightlifting or using the punching bag). I didn’t log my calories burned since January 1, but I have been working out since then

As you can see by the chart, I usually rest on the weekends. My body needs it

I’ll continue during February – and every month after

I always hated February during school because it only has 28 or 29 days. If an assignment was due March 1, I’d think I had lots of time to do it, but then I’d look on a calendar and realize I have less days than I thought! Stupid February!

Looking Forward To The Future

Finally Tegan and Sara released their new album today. I’ve been waiting for it since summer

I got it today and I love it! It was well worth the wait. There’s 10 tacks and I like 9

It’s now on my computer, iPod, and BlackBerry PlayBook. I’d put it on my phone too but I don’t listen to music on my phone. I usually listen to my iPod or PlayBook when working out or reading at night

I also found out that Khaled Hossieni, author of The Kite Runner, is coming out with a new book, And the Mountains Echoed, in mid May (i actually found this out from another blog on wordpress)

I enjoy Hossieni’s work and have read and liked everything by him. Another thing to look forward to!

Just hope it’s worth the wait like Tegan and Sara’s album

Triple T : Part 4

  1. I didn’t win the Heart and Stroke lottery today. Sadness
  2. Today’s the 29th! That means Tegan and Sara’s new album came out. Oh happy days
  3. Maybe I’ll play PS3 today or watch a movie or two
  4. PB&J sandwiches are great. Easy to make and taste great! How can you not like them?
  5. Why is it so hard to come up with 10 thoughts?
  6. I should probably charge my iPod
  7. There is a great need for sarcasm font
  8. If I was rich, I think I’d hire two private investigators to follow each other
  9. It’s raining and melting the snow. If it was colder, it’d be snowing
  10. I’m going to try and read more of World War Z. It;s getting good now

Workout Log

This workout log is pretty good because it makes me workout harder because I treat it like a game, trying to beat my last “score”

I used to only burn about 170 calories on the treadmill, but now I burn 200+. Not a huge difference but still a difference

Acceptance Speech: Part 2

This is my acceptance post for The Versatile Blogger Award. This one didn’t take me 2 months to complete

I was nominated by Valerie over at atlantamotheothree. It’s nice being appreciated for all the blood, sweat, and tears I put into my blog day in and day out, so thank you

The rules for accepting this award are as follows:

  • Link back to the person who nominated you
  • Nominate other blogs for the award
  • List 7 random things about you
  • Put the award picture on your acceptance post

versatile-blogger

Random facts about me:

  1. I uploaded 350+ eBooks on my Kindle (I doubt I’ll read them all but I’ll be set for a while
  2. I had an argument with a friend about whether swans fly or not. I said I think they do, she said they don’t. After Googling it, I was right
  3. My brother in law is making Creme Brulee tonight. Hope it’s good
  4. X-Files scared me as a kid
  5. I like to smell things before I eat them
  6. I hate cinnamon
  7. I played the trumpet in high school

I’m not done accepting the award, but I have to ask the nominatee something. The rules state to nominate other bloggers, but I don’t know how many I need to nominate. What a dilemma

Review

Last night I finished reading We Were Soldiers Once…and Young by Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore and Joseph L. Galloway

It’s a novel about the battle in the Ia Drang Valley during the Vietnam War. I wouldn’t say it was the best novel on the Vietnam War, but is the most detailed. Moore seemed to actually care about the men he led and didn’t just throw them into the meat grinder

The book also shed a new light on then Sectary of Defense, Robert McNamera. I originally thought this guy was an idiot because of the way he advised President LBJ on the war. Now I think more of him (less of an idiot) and even less of President LBJ

At the end of the book it had a list of all the soldiers that were at Ia Drang, and what they are up to these days. It also had stories about the families of the soldiers that were killed in action, and how they dealt with the news. Did you know that in 1965, the U.S Army just sent taxicab drivers to deliver the telegrams informing families of the death or missing soldiers?

It was a good book. If you’re looking for a detailed account of a battle during the Vietnam War, this is a great book. It was a little too detailed in tactical terms for me, but still good. I give it 4/5 stars

Acceptance Speech: Part 1

Time to accept awards I’ve been nominated for. It’s like the Golden Globe awards but more exciting! I have 2 to accept so I might do this in parts

First up is the Liebster Blog Award

A while ago – November 27 2012 – I was nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Valerie over at alantamotherofthree. Thank you! I appreciate it very much even though I’m accepting it 2 months later (you can blame my memory and laziness)

This award is an award for bloggers by bloggers. It’s a way of acknowledging each other and is for blogs with 200 or less followers (I have a lot less than 200)

Rules:

When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer 11 questions from the person who nominated you. You pass the award onto 11 other blogs, tell them you nominated them, and ask them 11 questions. You are not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated you

Random factoids about me:

  4. I also went to Sheridan College for Accounting

  6. I’m the youngest of 3
  7. I have 2 older sisters
  8. I was born in Etobicoke on May 20

  10. I like Excel Spearmit Mints
  11. I don’t watch much TV and I don’t like sitting in one place for a long time without moving around. I get restless

Questions and answers:

Q. Would you rather live where they have mild winters and very hot summers, or have freezing winters and mild summers?

A. It depends. If by hot we’re talking humidity, than freezing winters and mild summers. If we’re just talking straight up heat, than mild winters and very hot summers. I don’t mind heat but I can’t stand humidity

Q. If you had to choose a different decade to live in for one month from 1900-1990, which would you choose? Why?

A. I have a couple. I would say 1969 so I could buy a Pontiac GTO Judge, or 1980 so I can buy Apple stock. I’d probably go for 1980

Q. Do you have children? How many?

A. None that I’m aware of

Q. Where you live are there more cars than bikes? Do you own a bike?

A. Motorcycles or bicycles? Either way, cars outnumber them. I have 2 mountain bikes and had a motorcycle

Q. What is one thing you are really proud of that you’ve learned how to do as an adult? (Mine is juggling!!)

A. Mmmm…manage my finances and having patience (for some things)? I say both because they both came in handy. I can’t juggle

Q. What is your favorite fiction book?

A. Read a lot of good books, but I’d say The Kite Runner is my favourite

Q. If you found $1000 cash on a ride at an amusement park, what would you do?

A. Return it to its rightful owner. Ya right! I’d make like a thief and run. Chances of finding the owner are slim and the person at the “lost and found” would probably steal it. Unless I saw whose pocket it fell out of..then I’d probably return it

Q. What is your favorite kind of music to listen to?

A. I listen to pretty much anything, except country music. Dance/Euro is probably my favourite

Q. What do you think is the best way to spend a Saturday night?

A. Depends how I feel. Maybe stay at home or go out dinner and movie.  I’m done with the club scene

Q. Would you rather spend a week in the mountains or on a beach? Why?

A. Mountains for sure! Beach you basically just lay there doing nothing. Mountains are majestic , beautiful and I find them relaxing

Q. Do you do Pinterest? Want to share your link?

A. Nope. To tell you the truth, I never really heard of it before. I have Facebook and hardly use it. I’m anti-social
