Aquarium SitRep

I finally got around to posting some pictures of my aquarium. It’s not done just yet…but soon. I plan on adding a couple more plants, some caves where the future inhabitants can hide, water, and some aquatic friends

I was planning on posting pictures once it was all done, but what the hay, now’s a good a time as ever

This weekend, there were a lot of curling matches on TV. I didn’t know how to play or how the points system worked. I knew the point was to get as close to the center circle as possible, but nothing more. I asked my sister and she told we what I already suspected

Since I had nothing better to do, I searched online, and minutes later, had the information I was seeking

I also joined an online site and played curling online. I found it pretty fun because of the strategy involved. I’m no expert in curling, but had fun as a beginner (even though I was on the receiving end of an old fashioned butt kicking by more experienced players). Watching it is still pretty drab. I think the opposing teams should engage in some fisticuffs once in a while. That would make it more exciting

This is what I did this weekend

4th Book Finished (4/12)

Couple days ago I finished another book

I read Await Your Reply by Dan Chaon. I read this book because I have read You Remind Me Of Me by the same author, and I liked it

Await Your Reply didn’t disappoint. I liked it also. How can you not like a book whose starting paragraph is:

“We are on our way to the hospital, Ryan’s father says.

Listen to me, Son:

You are not going to die.”

The book follows the lives of 3 different people but is well done and not even close to confusing. By the end of the book, the reader becomes aware of how the 3 different lives are connected. The stories are also intertwined and play off one another throughout the book

I give this book 4/5 stars

The next book I’m reading is Steve Job’s biography

Workout Log

I finally started back on my workout routine. I’m still not feeling 100% but good enough to try working out

The elliptical felt weird, as if someone changed a setting. All the settings were fine. I guess it was due to not using it for a while

All was well during the workout but now I feel like taking a nap, but I won’t because I don’t believe in naps

Last week I finally bought myself a 10 gallon aquarium. That’s one step closer to buying my aquatic pets

I’m planning on getting African Dwarf Frogs but I’m not sure if I want to keep just the frogs or get frogs and fish. The fish would make the tank look “pretty” but I’d have to make sure the frogs are actually eating because the fish will steal their food. Maybe I’ll just keep frogs for now

I also decided to try sand instead of gravel as the substrate. As of now, I have the aquarium set up with just sand and rocks. I’m getting plants soon, so I figured I’d wait for that before filling it with water and beginning to cycle the tank

You can call off the nation-wide search

I haven’t posted anything for the past 4 days, but I’m still alive and kicking

I also haven’t worked out in the past 4 days because of various reasons

This past Thursday, I didn’t workout because I went out in the morning (my workout time). I came back around 12pm and just had lunch

Friday, there’s no excuse. Just didn’t want to workout. Was feeling too tired so figured I’d take a break

Saturday and Sunday, I don’t workout so why start now?

Sunday evening, I felt I was getting a cold. My throat was feeling funny. On Monday, I was out of commission. A regular cold never puts me out of commission. All I did was sit on the couch and watch TV. There was a Good Luck Charlie marathon on, so I just watched that. Needless to say, I was in no condition to workout

Today I’m feeling better, but not 100% so again I didn’t workout

Zoo Saftey

Yesterday morning, as I was waiting for the milk to make my Mini Wheats a bit softer, I decided to read the front page of The Toronto Star (a local newspaper). I usually don’t read the front page and just stick to the business section

There was an article on the front page about visitor safety and some safety report at the city’s Zoo. I found it quite funny

Instead of being mauled and/or maimed by animals, visitors were walking into glass doors, tripping over their own foot, crashing into each other, accidently putting sunscreen in their eyes and other comical events. It’s good news no one got hurt by the animals, but come on people! Humans are a danger to themselves and others

This article tells me if I want to be safe at the zoo, I should stay away from Homo Sapiens. Being anti-social has its benefits
